Acid Free - All of the mount boards that we use in the making of your Aeroframe models are of a high conservation quality.
Wood contains a natural acid content known as lignin. When artwork is placed near to wood that contains lignin, damage occurs known as acid burn. All of our mount boards have been through many processes to remove this natural acid content, keeping your artwork safe.

Bespoke - Every model that we produce is framed in a style, size and colour etc that works best with the model that we are working on. These are not mass produced ready made frames, they are made to order.

Bevelled Edge - This is the edge of a mount board which has been cut at an angle to show the white core of the board.

Conservation Framing - This means the use of high quality materials. We want your model to last a life time, so we use acid free products and in most models (not open editions) we use UV filtering glass.

Box Frame - A box frame is a deep frame that enables us to frame things with extra depth. Some models like the Lancaster have more layers of wood than some of our other models (eight layers in this case) so requires a frame that allows us the use of this extra depth.

Certificate Of Authenticity - Certificates of authenticity are our guarantee that the signatures are authentic. These certificates also state the size of the edition and gives various details relating to the model. Each certificate is numbered to match the model number, signed by the owner of Aeroframes and includes information based on events relevant to the pilot and aircraft.

Edition Numbers - Edition numbers state the number of a particular model available. For example 1 / 50 means your model is number one of fifty models made.

Limited Editions - A limited edition means that there is only a limited number made of the model. These models are normally signed by the pilots and crew who fought in the particular craft. They are individually numbered with a matching certificate of authenticity. The certificates include information based on events relevant to the pilot and aircraft. Limited editions are generally more collectable as we also make low limited edition numbers, sometimes only five of one model, making them highly sort after.

Open Editions - Unlike limited editions, open editions are not capped in the number of models made, they are unlimited and will not be signed by pilots or crew. These models do not come with a certificate of authenticity, but do come with an information sheet. Open editions will always be the least expensive to purchase.

Aeroarts - These are amongst our most highly collectable editions available, normally there are only a very few made i.e. three and will be numberd accordingly. Each drawing will differ to reflect different aspects of the model and story relating to it.
Each framed model will contain an original pencil drawing by a leading aviation artist. The drawing will be relevant in some way to the model and will be placed in the frame along with the model. Aeroarts will come with all the extras that limited editions come with but with have the added extra of being signed by the aviation artist that drew the picture.

Aerorelics - An Aerorelic is a one off piece. From time to time we may make just one framed model with no other copies available. They may be framed with a piece of the original aircraft that the model is based on or will be unique in some other way. These are highly collectable editions. The relic will be placed in the frame along with the model. Sometmes they may have a signature if relevant to the model and will come with a certificate. These are truly fantastic items which anyone with any interest in aviation history would want to own.

UV Glass - UV glass is superior to normal glass, normal glass will offer a certain amount of UV protection approximately 40 %. All our open edition Aeroframe models will be fitted with normal glass. Our more expensive editions will be fitted with filtering glass, this glass will give a high protection against damaging UV. Without UV protection the colours of your artworks and mounts will fade. The UV glass has a protection of 98% but our advice is still not to hang any pictures where that it will be subject to bright sunlight.
